Adam Knapik
“I was born in a tiny Polish village on the Baltic coast
from Polish-Russian parents 8-th of july 1970. Two families,
one is Catholic and other is Orthodox, were not close to each
other because of their religious difference. This circumstance
was the reason of their break. After divorse of my parents
I was brought to Moscow in the age of two y.o. by my Russian
family and was rechristened in Orthodox church under the name
Andrei. My first Catholic name is Adam.
After graduating school and executing my duty in army I suddenly
entered into glimmering world of Russian showbiz where I succesfully
cooperated with several stars as a dancer. At the age of 25
I was experienced enough to create my first own show and this
was a striptease show. This was something new and exotic for
Russia those days. Five years later I decided to start new
show that could be curious for Russian puplic. I decided to
make a dragshow. So I did and won. The show officially became
the best nightshow in Moscow.
But after that time showbiz doesn’t thrill me much anymore.
I had an interest in Art and I decided to study it in St Petersburg’s
Repin Institute (Academy of Fine Arts). And this was a point
from which I started drawing.”
