The Little Russian Ballet Address Book

Made entirely by hand, and bound at the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, I like to think that this is the most elegant and exclusive luxury pocket address book.

Each set of covers is unique and takes some four weeks to make: the base of papier-mache is baked several times for strength and coated in black tempera. Each individual ballet picture is then hand-painted and signed by the artist. The final process is the careful application of layer upon layer of clear lacquer, to produce a set of covers that are as beautiful as they are long-lasting.

Inside, an introductory essay about the history of classical Russian ballet. Twenty-eight full-colour photographs of the Kirov Ballet, one photograph for each letter of the alphabet, three pages per letter of the alphabet. Twenty pages for notes.

Presented in a velvet drawstring bag.
